"ISE Holiday Drive"
In partnership with Heartland Alliance

Make a donation to help homeless transition from the streets and shelters into new apartments

WHAT: Donation Collection
WHERE:  ISE Office on 21st Floor (#2115C), Next to Admissions Conf Room
WHEN: Friday's through the Holiday Season (Dec 5 and Dec 12)

You can contribute by donating items in need, such as:

Grocery Gift Cards:  $10, $25, $50 (or any denomination) Jewel, Dominick's or Aldi Gift Cards to provide a meal for a family

Hygiene Items:  Soap, Shampoo, Lotion, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Deodorant, Bath Towels and Washcloths.  Items must be new and unopened.

Home Starter Supplies:  Brooms, Dust Pans, Paper Towels, Trashcans and Bags, Rubber Gloves, Cleaning Supplies (e.g. oven and glass cleaner, disinfectants, kitchen cleanser, dish detergent).  Items must be new and unopened.

Baby Care Items:  Blankets, Diapers and Pins, Baby Socks, Soap, Undershirts, Bottles and Formula

"Breast Cancer Awareness and Advocacy Program"
Sponsored by: Sisters Working It Out...Health Advocacy in Motion

SWIO is looking for African American women to become Community Health Educators. A $1,000 stipend is provided - half at the end of classroom training and half upon graduation of the program/training. After graduation, the pay is $30 per health event conducted. You will also have to opportunity to travel to Washington DC to participate in the 'National Breast Cancer Coalition Annual Conference' (all expenses paid).

Since 2002 we have conducted our training program and community outreach on the West Side of Chicago. Beginning in February 2009, we will offer our program to women on the Woodlawn and Englewood communities.
