Audra Akins, M.A.T.D.

Ms. Akins is a doctoral student in instructional technology and design at Northern Illinois University, and she exemplifies the type of student we would most like to capture at our School, a student who is using education to improve her community. She has worked with and designed a number of community health programs.

Mary Cahillane , M.B.A.

Ms. Cahillane is the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer for The Spencer Foundation, an organization that focuses on educational research. Prior to joining Spencer, Ms. Cahillane served in senior management positions at Bank of America.

Janet Campbell, M.S.W.
Member since 2006
Ms. Campbell is the Coordinator of Child and Youth Mental Health for the Vancouver Coastal Region and the Coordinator of PASTS (Psychological Assessments and Short Term Therapy Services.) She was formerly the Provincial Manager for Family Court Centre. Ms. Campbell received her M.S.W. from the University of British Columbia.

Victoria Chou, Ph.D.
Member since 2008
Dr. Chou has served as the Dean of the College of Education at UIC since 1997. Prior to her deanship, she was a classroom teacher, a reading specialist, a teacher educator, and a reading researcher. She has secured numerous grants to support the preparation and professional development of excellent teachers for high-poverty, predominantly minority schools.

Ralph DeWitt, M.P.A.

Chief of the Investigations Bureau, Cook County State's Attorney's Office. Prior to being named Chief of the Investigations Bureau in 2008, Mr. DeWitt served as Deputy Chief since 1991. He began his career as a Chicago police officer in 1971 where he rose through the ranks, from patrolman to commanding officer before joining the State's Attorney's Office.  Mr. DeWitt is the first African-American to hold this position.

Diane Dinkins-Carr

Ms. Dinkins-Carr is the Founder and President of DDC Consulting Group, Inc., an art appraisal and consulting business that provides professional appraisal, advisory, and resource services to connect individuals, collectors, architects, designers, developers, institutions and businesses to the visual fine arts.

William W. Greaves, Ph.D.

Director/Community Liaison, Advisory Council on Gay and Lesbian Issues; City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations. Mr. Greaves is Mayor Daley's liaison to the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities of Chicago. He is a chemist by training and was an editor at Science during the beginning of the AIDS epidemic.

Lee Guthrie, M.B.A., M.L.S.

Vice President, Marketing and Business Development, Healthcare Financial Management Association(HFMA). HFMA offers resources healthcare providers need to achieve sound fiscal health in order to provide excellent patient care. Ms. Guthrie brings experience from success in marketing and business development in the healthcare, IT, and banking industries, and she is a professional actress.

James M. Houlihan

Cook County Assessor since 1997. Assessor Houlihan has earned a reputation for his success in bringing fairness, uniformity and openness to the assessment process and for his innovative plans for property tax reform. Since taking office, the Assessor has focused on developing an accurate and fair office while providing additional clarity to the assessment process. In addition, the Assessor has worked tirelessly for both short-term and long-term property tax reform solutions.

David J. Kreischer, M.A.

Managing Partner, Higgins Kreischer and Associates LLC. Mr. Kreischer's firm coaches and counsels senior executives and high potentials on career, team, and organizational development issues. Dave is an Adler School alumnus.

Sid Mohn, Ph.D.
Member since 2010
Executive Director, Heartland Alliance for Human Rights and Human Needs. Dr. Mohn joined Heartland Alliance in 1980, and also serves as President of its three partners: Heartland Housing, Inc., Heartland Health Outreach, Inc. and Heartland Human Care Services, Inc. He is responsible for developing and implementing the strategic plan that allows the organization to meet its mission. Through his passion and vision, Dr. Mohn has helped Heartland Alliance and its partners become the premier service-based human rights organization in the Midwest.

Harold Mosak, Ph.D.
Member since 1952 
Distinguished Professor, Adler School of Professional Psychology and one of the founders of the School. Across 60 years, Dr. Mosak has written hundreds of articles and numerous books on Individual Psychology.

Aurie Pennick, M.A., J.D.
Member since 2010
Executive Director and Treasurer, Field Foundation of Illinois, Inc. Ms. Pennick oversees approximately sixty million dollars in Field Foundation assets. She is an attorney with extensive backgroun in the nonprofit and public sector. Prior to her return to philanthropy, she practiced law and served as a consultant to nonprofit organizations in the region. Prior to joining the Field Foundation, Ms. Pennick was the President and CEO of the Leadership Council for Metropolitan Open COmmunities, the only fair housing organization in the nation founded by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Lindsay Setzer

Ms. Setzer worked for the Provincial Government of Canada for thirty years, until her retirement in 2005. Most recently, she served as the Director of the Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre, a provincial mental health facility in Burnaby, British Columbia. Ms. Setzer is also an active member of the Women's Monument Committee that created and built the women's monument, "Marker of Change," in Thornton Park in Vancouver, a memorial to 14 young women murdered in Montreal in 1989, and to all women murdered by men.

Bernard Shulman, M.D.
Member Since 1952
Director of Psychiatric Services, Diamond Headache Clinic and one of the founders of the School. Across 50 years, Dr. Shulman has written over 100 articles and books.

Javier Ubarri, M.B.A.
Member Since 2004
Former Regional Executive, Banco Popular North America. Banco Popular includes operations in Puerto Rico, the U.S., the Caribbean, and Latin America, with $38.1 billion in assets. In the U.S., its Hispanic financial service franchise serves communities of the fastest growing population in the country. Mr. Ubarri is from Puerto Rico, and he was trained as an accountant before pursuing his career in management.
