International Admissions

At Adler School of Professional Psychology, we are proud of our long tradition of attracting students from all over the world to study in a collaborative learning environment.  International students not only add to the rich diversity of the Alder School but also support our commitment to social responsibility.

In addition to a completed application, any applicant whose first language is not English, must submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).  Scores should be sent directly to the School by the testing service. The Adler School 's code number for receiving test scores is 1147. Applicants who have taken the paper-based TOEFL must receive a minimum score of 550. Those who have taken the computer-based TOEFL must have a minimum score of 213. Students taking the Internet-based TOEFL must have a minimum score of 79.  Students who have earned a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited program in English instruction will not be required to submit a TOEFL score.


International Applicants: Vancouver Campus

International applicants must submit a completed application as outlined above. 

In addition, applicants who have earned a Bachelor or Master's Degree outside North America and not from an accredited institution with English as the medium of instruction must submit scores from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Scores should be sent directly to the School by the testing service. The Adler School, Vancouver campus code number for receiving  TOEFL test scores is 6215.

Applicants who take the paperbased TOEFL must receive a minimum score of 580. Those who take the computer-based TOEFL must receive a minimum score of 240. Students who take the Internet-based TOEFL (IBT) must receive a minimum score of 92. Students should achieve a minimum of 22 on each of the four sections of the IBT: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

Applicants who take the IELTS must receive a minimum Academic score of 7.

Students who have earned a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in an accredited program outside North America from a university with English as the medium of instruction may not be required to take the TOEFL or IELTS. Please contact the Office of Admissions, Vancouver campus to confirm this.

All transcripts from outside of North America (including Mexico) require a "course by course" evaluation from a transcript evaluation service such as World Education Service (www.wes.org) or Educational Credential Evaluators (www.ece.org).  Please contact the Office of Admissions for specific transcript translation requirements.

Once admitted to a degree program at Adler School, international students will be required to supply additional materials as outlined in the immigration to the U.S. and immigration to Canada sections.
