Undergraduate Diversity Scholars Program (Chicago campus only)
The purpose of the Undergraduate Diversity Scholars Program is to:
-
Introduce promising ethnic minority students to the field of professional psychology;
-
Encourage students participating in the Scholars Program to consider graduate study in this field; and
-
Help develop and expand the pool of practicing psychologists to include racial, ethnic and other minority groups who have traditionally been under-represented in the profession.
The curriculum is taught by a variety of Adler faculty and is designed to introduce students to a wide range of ideas and concepts in the field of professional psychology.
A strong emphasis is placed on the development of knowledge and skills required to engage in socially responsible practice. Through homework assignments and in-class discussions that expose them to multiple perspectives on important contemporary issues, students are encouraged to think critically about the world around them and its impact on individuals and their communities.
Students, who successfully complete this program and are admitted to and begin a master's or doctoral program at Adler School within 24 months, receive a $500 tuition credit.
