D.), the M.A. in Counselling Psychology (MAC), Master of Counselling Psychology (non-thesis MCP), Master of Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy (MCP:AT), and M.A. in Organizational Psychology (MAOP) programs.

    You will have the opportunity to speak with Adler School faculty, staff, and current students. During this session we will also be discussing admission requirements, program descriptions, finances, and answering any other questions you may have for us. Please plan to arrive on time as there will be a brief introduction by the Dean and a question and answer period starting at 1:00pm.

This event is open to everyone and is a great opportunity for out-of-town prospective students to learn more about the Psy.D. program and interact with Psy.D. faculty and staff. The event will be facilitated by Cindy Weisbart, Psy.D., Program Director, and Yubai Liu, Admissions Advisor. A range of topics will be discussed from admissions requirements to clinical training, practicum, and internship.

  • Foundation Adlerian Principles and their Application to Organizational Development (+)

    Foundational Adlerian Principles will first be presented including socially imbedded, self-determining and creative, goal directed or teleological, growth model and striving for significance, and holism. Two lines of movement will be discussed (vertical and horizontal) along with their implications related to growth and full potential. Finally, Dr. Colker will highlight five case example where Adlerian approaches were successfully applied.

    Learning Outcomes:

    • Participants will learn the foundational principles of Adlerian Psychology and their relevance in the practice of Organizational Psychology
    • Participants will understand the application of Adlerian Psychology through a number of case examples.

    Dr. Jay Colker is currently the Director of the Center for Adlerian Research and Practice and the Director of the Masters of Counseling and Organizational Psychology Program at the Adler School of Professional Psychology . Dr. Colker maintains an OD consulting practice and is also the founder of Crowdsourced Coaching LLC (www.crowdsourcedcoaching.com). Dr. Colker has over 22 years of experience in executive coaching, leadership and management development, change management, organizational development, enhancing team effectiveness, and more. Dr. Colker has done international consulting in Mongolia, the Republic of Georgia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, and India. Dr. Colker holds a Doctor of Management in Organizational Leadership, an MBA, and a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology. He combines a core understanding of leadership, business, and psychology in a manner that allows him to effectively work with people from all backgrounds and experiences and to facilitate change from a system’s perspective.

    Unique Self Defense & Work/Street Safety training designed for busy staff and students. Women and men of all ages and physical ability are encouraged to join us in learning practical self-defence, escapes, attack prevention and more with two (female and male), multi-black belt, award winning, self-defence instructors. These two sessions are ideal for personal safety and a compliment to your career training. A take home Work/Street Safety guide will be provided to all attendees.

    The cost is $25 for both sessions, which is open to all Adler School student, faculty and staff. To register and pay email Stephanie Haslam, Manager of Student and Alumni Services, at by Oct. 29.

    The two day classes will be held Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 from noon to 1 p.m.

    The Adler School's Vancouver Campus Reunion 2014 will be on Oct. 30 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at the Vancouver campus.

    Previously known as the New Grad and Alumni Wine and Cheese, the annual alumni reception featuring appetizers and cocktails will take place Thursday October 30th at the Vancouver campus. The Vancouver Alumni Association Leadership Board will also present its Adler School Outstanding Alumni Awardsf to Deb Bailey, M.A. '90.
