    Presented by Bonnie Ewald, Program Coordinator of the Schweitzer Fellowship. The Fellowship provides an opportunity for students to augment their academic careers with experience working in an underserved community, designing and leading a project, and making an important difference in the lives of others. The Fellowship also enables like-minded students to meet, share ideas and encouragement, form friendships, and gain exposure to other disciplines. This informational session will be beneficial to students that are looking for an opportunity to collaborate with other students at other institutions on issues related to Social Justice and Health.

    Mark Lecker teaches participants how to be safe in an urban environment. He focuses on protecting yourself using a combination of targeted punches and kicks through a variety of martial arts movements. His practice is defensive not offensive. Mark teaches maneuvers, which will keep you out of harm’s way by blocking an attacker.

    Self-defense will be held in the Wellness Room on the 16th floor. This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff.

    Leilanii Mesa is a registered yoga teacher, who has studied the practice for 10 years. She enjoys sharing her spiritual, mental and physical transformation with participants. Leilanii uses a gentle yet invigorating approach to relax the mind and body, as well as strengthen the body.

    Yoga will be held in the Wellness Room on the 16th floor. This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff.
