Education for Liberation is a brown bag lunch program co-sponsored by the Chicago Freedom School and the Adler School of Professional Psychology. This program will feature Dr. Kristin Atkinson, who will share findings and implications from her recent research project, Education for Liberation.
Education for Liberation was a participatory research project of the Chicago Freedom School's Freedom Fellowship program, which provides a comprehensive education and training experience with Chicago youth of color to develop their own unique voice, power and ability to impact and effect social change in their lives and in their communities.

The Adler School LGBTQ Mental Health and Inclusion Center in affiliation with Chicago Lakeshore Hospital present: Mental Health and Clinical Interventions with LGBQ Latino Youth.
2 C.E.U.’s will be offered for LCP, LCPC, and LCSW licenses.
This is a free Continuing Education event and dinner, which provides a forum for discussion of the social, cultural, and emotional components that impacts the life of LGBQ Latino/Hispanic adolescents and their families.
Participants will learn to:- Understand the multiple minority identities of these adolescents.
- Increase understanding of the Hispanic/Latino ethnicity and culture.
- Identify psychosocial and cultural factors that influence the Latino/Hispanic GLBQ adolescent development and self-identity.
- Discuss the coming out process within a multiple minority identities framework.
- Identify and explain therapeutic interventions to strengthen the youth self-identity and improve the family dynamics.
- Identify community resources

We will be having two more Difficult Dialogues events to finish this academic year. We have two invited speakers who are experts in diversity training coming to help us continue our work together.

June 25 - Dr. Kenneth Hardy
The morning will be for all staff, faculty, and administrators to participate and continue our diversity conversations. The afternoon will be for faculty and focus on integration into the curriculum and managing difficult dialogues in the classroom setting. More information to come.Zumba (+)
