    Join the Association of Neuropsychology Students in Training (ANST) as they welcome Bryan Bernard, Ph.D., from Rush University Medical Center. Dr. Bernard will talks about Parkinson's Disease and movement disorders. Dr. Bernard is an accomplished board certified Clinical Neuropsychologist who specializes in movement disorders, dementia, learning disabilities, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

    Andrea DiRosa provides a mid-week energy boost. This fun and easy to follow cardio dance class combines high-energy and motivating Latin music with unique moves and combinations that make you forget you’re working out.

    Mark Lecker teaches participants how to be safe in an urban environment. He focuses on protecting yourself using a combination of targeted punches and kicks through a variety of martial arts movements. His practice is defensive not offensive. Mark teaches maneuvers, which will keep you out of harm’s way by blocking an attacker.

    Self-defense will be held in the Wellness Room on the 16th floor. This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff.

  • Silent Art Auction Fundraising Event (+)

    Join us for our annual silent auction of donated art pieces from Art Therapy students to fundraise for ASATSA (Adler School Art Therapy Student Association) and to raise awareness of the Art Therapy program at Adler. The auction will take place on the 16th floor landing near the back staircase.

  • Movie Screening: 5 Broken Cameras Part 1 (+)

    Screening of the award-winning documentary 5 Broken Cameras, followed by discussion. A portion will be shown over lunch, and the rest of the film will be shown from 4:30-6pm. Pizza will be included at lunchtime. This is the first event of the new Adler student organization, Students for Justice in Palestine.

    Dr. Elena Quintana, Director of the Institute on Public Safety and Social Justice, is a key educator in Chicago around Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma-informed care. For Common Hour at Adler, Dr. Quintana will be giving a presentation on the N.E.A.R. (Neurobiology, Epigenetics, Adverse Childhood Experiences and Resilience) Sciences. Further she will discuss how these subjects are fundamentally linked to social policy, and educate attendees about how their work can benefit from this knowledge.

    Michael Schulz, Program Director for the Emergency Management Leadership program at the Adler School, will explore the need for being an effective emergency management leader while accepting professional accountability for one's decisions and actions. He will also speak about the Master of Arts in Emergency Management Leadership program offered.
