FREE Admission - Donations to "Operation Duffle Bag" Encouraged
The Faces of Poverty Photo exhibit is a collection of photographs taken by Chicago Police Officers who are also students in Adler's M.A. in Police Psychology program. The photographs depict the rarely captured lives of Chicago's homeless population and represent a journey of deeper understanding about the problems faced by those in poverty on our city streets – a journey taken by Officers who work in impoverished neighborhoods every day. By looking through the eyes of these caring police officers, we invite you to witness continuity rather than difference – the humanness that is shared by all of us. Please join us to share this exceptional experience and to help support the work of police officers who fight for social justice.
We hope to inspire you to take action!
The Adler Institute on Public Safety and Social Justice is proud to partner with Volunteers of America. When you attend this event, please bring an item to support Operation Duffle Bag, an initiative which aims to bring much needed supplies to our city's homeless veterans this winter. Your donations of duffle bags, socks, scarves, sweatshirts, shampoo, combs, under-shirts / t-shirts, gloves, hats, toiletries, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and soap will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
