Working with older adults is personally rewarding, and offers many stable career opportunities. With over 77 million baby boomers aging, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts the number of jobs in gerontology-related fields to increase by more than 36 percent by 2012.

Our M.A. in Gerontological Counseling program gives you specialized training in gerontology, while also providing the requisite training to be a successful mental health counselor for people of any age.

Unique features of the Adler School program include:
• Graduates are prepared to sit for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) exam in  Illinois.
• Educational training is focused on social responsibility, emphasizing the development and
application of skills in advocacy, consultation, systems change, and leadership.
• Adler School's Institutes for Social Change offer students additional opportunities in training, research, and outreach.
• In 2007 the American Psychological Association awarded Adler School one of two Board of Educational Affairs Awards for Innovative Practices in Graduate Education in Psychology.
Scholarships of up to $10,000 available for Fall; Federal financial aid and part-time options also available.
