Grace Hou is the President of The Woods Fund of Chicago. The Woods Fund of Chicago is a bold grant-making foundation that finds and funds projects which draw upon the power of communities to fight the brutality of poverty and structural racism.

Prior to joining The Woods Fund in 2012, Ms. Hou served as the Assistant Secretary at the Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS). Grace"s career has been dedicated to systems improvement through public policy change, social services provision, community organizing, education, and now, philanthropy.

Grace is also a board member of Chicago Public Media and the Community Memorial Foundation. She has been the recipient of numerous awards and fellowships, including Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights' 2012 Building the American Community Award, the Monsignor Romero Award, Asian American Institute's 2005 Milestone Award, Action for Children's 2008 Individual Champion Award, and the United African Organization Distinguished Public Service Award. She is a 2001 Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow, and a 2002 German Marshall Fellow.
