Raymond E. Crossman, Ph.D.
President, Adler University
Raymond E. Crossman, Ph.D., was appointed the fifth president of Adler in 2003. A social justice advocate, a psychologist, and a family therapist, he has served as a graduate psychology leader and faculty member since 1992. Dr. Crossman is a past president of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology and past chair of the Council of Chairs of Training Councils of the American Psychological Association. He has served on the Commission on Accreditation of the American Psychological Association, and is a recipient of the Hawai’i Psychological Association’s Significant Professional Contribution Award.
Dr. Crossman serves as Co-Chair of LGBTQ Presidents in Higher Education, Board Chair for Illinois Campus Compact, and Co-Chair of Global LGBTQ Action. He serves on the boards of Chicago Public Media, Thresholds, Chicago Loop Alliance, and OUT at Chicago History Museum; as well as the editorial board of Training and Education in Professional Psychology. He also serves on the Higher Learning Commission’s Institutional Actions Council.
Dr. Crossman received his B.S. (Summa cum Laude) in Psychology / Fine Arts from Fordham University. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Temple University, and studied at Philadelphia Child Guidance Clinic.
