"We work to create momentum and sustained participation in essential initiatives while continuing a strong tradition of philanthropy." Anthony Chimera, VP for Institutional Advancement
The Adler School is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. As the oldest independent psychology school in North America, the School continues the pioneering work of its namesake, Alfred Adler, by educating and training socially responsible practitioners, engaging communities, and advancing social justice. What makes the Adler School unique among graduate schools of Psychology is that it was founded on an important Adlerian ideal: Our health resides in our community life and connections.
The idea that individual and community health are inextricably linked drives the School’s thinking, curriculum, and community impact today. To that end, training the next generation of leaders to be effective practitioners engaged in social change requires a curriculum that redefines the roles and responsibilities of professional psychology and then integrates those principles throughout the learning experience. Consequently, students are empowered with knowledge, skills and practice experience to effect social change.
The extraordinary growth in the quality of the Adler School would not have been possible without the courageous work and life-long commitment of our School founders and past leaders. While we recognize their contributions, we also acknowledge the meaningful support of our benefactors who, over the years, have generously contributed their personal time, wisdom, and financial resources to advance Adler School’s social justice mission.
The Office for Institutional Advancement works with the Adler School community of faculty and staff to create momentum and sustained participation in essential initiatives while continuing a strong tradition of philanthropy. The School has identified key priority areas requiring on-going support, including; scholarships, capital projects, endowment, the work of its Institutes and Centers, and of course, operating expenditures to help sustain institutional strength and fortitude. In addition, the Adler School offers opportunities to support special campaigns and faculty support.
By supporting the Adler School with your philanthropic donations, you are helping to preserve and improve an institution that is helping generations of men and women on their own paths of improving people’s lives and the communities in which they reside. We invite you to explore our site and learn more about what we do, and discover how you can become involved.
