Harold and Birdie Mosak Library
The Harold and Birdie Mosak Library Campaign
In November 2010, the Office for Institutional Advancement launched a special fundraising campaign to name the new campus library in honor of the School’s co-founder, Dr. Harold Mosak and his late wife, Birdie. The overall campaign is a multi-year effort to raise capital and endowment funds in the amount of $1,000,000.
Phase I, which had an initial goal of $500,000, was successfully completed in FY 2012 with over $522,000 raised in gifts and pledges from 100 donors local and national, including Canada. This achievement led to the School’s first new campus naming event and the first of its kind since the 2007 launch of the advancement office in 2007. The library dedication took place on Thursday, October 27th with more than 135 guests in attendance. This milestone celebration also marked Dr. Mosak’s 90th birthday celebration.
It is worth noting that the successful completion of phase one ensured the naming of the Mosak Library for the next 15 years. Meeting the $1,000,000 campaign goal guarantees the permanent naming of the space. Phase II of the Library Campaign launched in FY 2012. Invitations were extended to the entire Adler community of alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and students. Solicitations will be ongoing for the duration of the campaign until the $1,000,000 has been reached.
