Scholarships are one of the most important priority areas at the Adler School. Providing significant scholarship support is crucial to our goal of attracting students from economically and ethnically diverse backgrounds. Scholarship support can be given to students who have great financial need or as merit based awards, to attract and retain the very best scholars. You may choose to support any of our current scholarships or inquire about naming opportunities for both annual and endowed scholarships.
The Elina Manghi Child and Adolescent Psychology
Established in 2012, the Elina Manghi Child and Adolescent Psychology Diversity Scholarship honors the memory of Elina Manghi, a cherished colleague, and a consummate child and adolescent psychologist. It is intended for doctoral students of underrepresented ethnic backgrounds completing their dissertations. The fund assists students in the dissertation by providing a $1,000 scholarship to be applied to research and/or living expenses during the academic year. Qualifying individuals are limited to students from under-represented racial and ethnic groups. Funding awards are based on merit and financial need.
Robert L. Powers, Jane S. Griffith, and Joseph J. Dittmer
Through the initial generosity of Steven A. Maybell and Elsie and Ted McDorman, the Adler School established the Robert L. Powers and Jane S. Griffith Scholarship Fund in 2011 to honor the contributions of these individuals to the field of Adlerian psychology. In 2014, the fund name was expanded to the Robert L. Powers, Jane S. Griffith, and Joseph J. Dittmer Scholarship Endowment to include that of Adler School alumnus Joseph J. Dittmer, Ph.D., M.P.A., in recognition of both his career in psychology and his generosity in honor of Robert L. Powers and Jane S. Griffith.
Professional Development Scholarship for Current Students
The Adler School's Alumni Association supports the Adler School Professional Development Scholarship. This scholarship is available for current students who need funding to support learning experiences such as presenting or participating in field-related conferences, workshops, and training.
