The LGBTQ Center is responsible for overseeing the level of integration and academic excellence in sexual orientation and gender identity in all academic programs offered by the Adler University. We work hard to ensure that our curricula are culturally accurate, competent, and inclusive. We strive to identify both deficits and resiliency in clinical issues related to gender and sexual minorities. It is our aim that the university will train students to have a synergistic relationship between their academic knowledge, clinical skills, and socially responsible practice when providing services to the LGBTQ community.
The LGBTQ Center assists in maintaining excellent relationships with community agencies that serve the LGBTQ community. Our community partners offer high quality training experiences with gender and sexual minorities. We offer several continuing education events and community forums at Adler University focused on gender and sexual minorities. Additionally, we link students to events in the LGBTQ community that allow students to network with other LGBTQ clinicians and agencies providing opportunities for training and employment.
The LGBTQ Center offers 2 to 3 work-study positions every academic year to work on associated projects. If interested in work-study opportunities, please email Dr. Osten-Garner.
