Native American Scholar, Advocate
Martin Brokenleg to give address
at Vancouver Campus Commencement

Adler School of Professional Psychology is pleased to announce that Native American scholar and advocate Martin Brokenleg, Ph.D., will provide the Commencement address to graduates at the School’s upcoming Commencement ceremonies in Vancouver.
The ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29 at the Renaissance Vancouver Harbourside Hotel.Raymond E. Crossman, Ph.D., President of the Adler School, will join Larry Axelrod, Ph.D, Dean of the Adler School Vancouver Campus, to confer the graduates’ degrees.
Dr. Brokenleg is Director of Native Ministries and Professor of First Nationals Theology at the Vancouver School of Theology. He also serves as a vice president for Reclaiming Youth International, providing training for individuals who work with youth at risk.
A former professor of Native American studies at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D. for 30 years, Dr. Brokenleg also was previously the director of The Neighborhood Youth Corps, a chaplain in a correctional setting, and an alcohol counselor. Dr. Brokenleg has consulted and led training programs throughout North America, New Zealand, and South Africa. He is a father of three and an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe, practicing the culture of the Lakota people.
