With growth comes change, and Adler University is poised to embrace an exciting new chapter with the official opening its new, state-of-the-art campus in the heart of Vancouver.

Located at 520 Seymour Street, the colourful five-storey, 30,500-square-foot learning hub reflects the vibrancy of its faculty, staff, alumni and graduate students. The education centre is a significant upgrade from Adler University Vancouver’s former home at 1090 West Georgia Street a space it had outgrown since its 2007 move-in.

“In addition to providing students an enhanced academic environment, our new campus closely connects us with our more than 250 valued community partners with whom we work daily,” said Brad O'Hara, executive dean of the Vancouver campus. “Combined with our well-established academic programs, our customised facility enhances our ability to shape graduate students into socially responsible practitioners."

The interior space is accented with bright colours and design elements similar to those found at Adler University’s Chicago Campus. The floorplan includes generous open spaces that promote collaboration and fruitful student experiences.

The campus was designed to accommodate up to 500 learners. Small classrooms reflect the University’s focus on meaningful student-faculty interaction and incorporate cutting-edge technology throughout. Students and faculty can access “walk-up and go” interactive whiteboards, in-room audio and video equipment, a plethora of computer connections and high-speed internet.

Adler University President Ray Crossman says the new Vancouver campus is a key component of the University’s commitment to social justice.

“We are delighted to have planned and built a world-class campus facility to support the world-class work of our students, faculty and staff,” Crossman said. “This is a learning space that is as progressive, optimistic, and as inspirational as our mission and our work.”

The Grand Opening ceremony is set for Monday, May 1 at 3:00 p.m. A full week of campus activities for faculty, students, alumni and community partners will follow.
