The Adler School of Professional Psychology is pleased to announce that social justice activist Vikki Reynolds, Ph.D., RCC, will provide the Commencement address to graduates at the School’s upcoming Commencement ceremonies in Vancouver.
The ceremony will take place at 10:30 a.m., Oct. 13, at the Harbourside Hotel in Vancouver. Raymond E. Crossman, Ph.D., President of the Adler School, and Larry Axelrod, Ph.D., Dean of the Adler School Vancouver Campus, will confer the graduates’ degrees.
Committed to social justice and an activist against oppression for more than 30 years, Reynolds is active with organizations throughout Vancouver including Peak House, Woman Against Violence Against Women, All Genders Wellness Clinic, and Rain City Housing Society in the Downtown Eastside.
Reynolds’ clinical experience includes providing therapy for refugees and survivors of torture, as well as anti-violence, mental health and substance abuse counseling. Her published work includes her dissertation, Doing Justice as a Path to Sustainability in Community Work, which addresses social justice and solidarity, ethics, group work, substance abuse, and trauma.
Reynolds has presented her work internationally in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and Ireland. In addition to her consulting and professional practices, she develops curricula and teaches for several British Columbia institutions of higher learning.
