    Leilanii Mesa is a registered yoga teacher, who has studied the practice for 10 years. She enjoys sharing her spiritual, mental and physical transformation with participants. Leilanii uses a gentle yet invigorating approach to relax the mind and body, as well as strengthen the body.

    Yoga will be held in the Wellness Room on the 16th floor. This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff.

    Join us at this Open House to learn more about the Adler School Vancouver Campus, the Doctor in Psychology in Clinical Psychology (Psy. D.), the M.A. in Counselling Psychology (MAC), Master of Counselling Psychology (non-thesis MCP), Master of Counselling Psychology: Art Therapy (MCP:AT), and M.A. in Organizational Psychology (MAOP) programs.

    You will have the opportunity to speak with Adler School faculty, staff, and current students. During this session we will also be discussing admission requirements, program descriptions, finances, and answering any other questions you may have for us. Please plan to arrive on time as there will be a brief introduction by the Dean and a question and answer period starting at 1:00pm.

    The Feminism and Equality Alliance (FEA) is proud to announce that we are doing the Monologues again, only this time we will be doing Eve Ensler's production titled A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant, and a Prayer. This is a piece that addresses a wide range of social justice issues, mainly relating to women and society's gender roles in a variety of contexts. We encourage the whole Adler community to come and audition. Anyone who comes will not be turned away. Both women and men are encouraged to audition. Even if you do not want to participate in the actual show, we are welcoming volunteers for behind the scenes work.

    The Office of Admissions invites you to join us for an Information Session! At an Information Session, you will meet one of our Admissions Counselors and receive a tour of the campus. Following the tour, Admissions Counselors will review program information and answer questions for those who are interested. Tours will begin promptly at 2:00pm, so please allow plenty of time to arrive to campus.

    Michael Schulz, Program Director for the Emergency Management Leadership program at the Adler School, will explore the need for being an effective emergency management leader while accepting professional accountability for one's decisions and actions. He will also speak about the Master of Arts in Emergency Management Leadership program offered.

    Mark Lecker teaches participants how to be safe in an urban environment. He focuses on protecting yourself using a combination of targeted punches and kicks through a variety of martial arts movements. His practice is defensive not offensive. Mark teaches maneuvers, which will keep you out of harm’s way by blocking an attacker.

    Self-defense will be held in the Wellness Room on the 16th floor. This event is open to all students, faculty, and staff.

  • Common Hour: A Community Circle Discussion on Ferguson (+)

    A community meeting to discuss the death of Michael Brown and its aftermath in Ferguson and across the country. The meeting will take place in a Circle format, a practice within Restorative Justice work. The Circle is not about expertise, but rather, it is a safe forum to express and explore different understandings and feelings about the event. Actions that are being undertaken by other groups will also be described and will be discussed in the context of the work of Adler.

  • Movie Screening: 5 Broken Cameras Part 2 (+)

    Screening of the award-winning documentary 5 Broken Cameras, followed by discussion. This is the second portion of the film. The first portion will be shown over lunch from noon to 1 p.m., and pizza will be served. This is the first event of the new Adler student organization, Students for Justice in Palestine.

  • Tied Up With A Bow: Clearly Connecting Objectives and Activities (+)

    The Curriculum and Student Learning Committee (CSLC) and the Department of Online Education invite you to attend a training on creating activities for your syllabus. This session will focus on recognizing how we can creatively work to create and sustain relationships between course objectives, learning aims, and activities in our courses. We will discuss ways in which we can ensure learning aims and course objectives are succinct, the importance of conveying the reasoning for materials and how they are used, and working to make sure the achievement of learning aims aligns with activities.     Join us for our annual silent auction of donated art pieces from Art Therapy students to fundraise for ASATSA (Adler School Art Therapy Student Association) and to raise awareness of the Art Therapy program at Adler. The auction will take place on the 16th floor landing near the back staircase.
