For the Chicago Tribune’s front-page follow-up to news that Yahoo’s CEO left the company after his resume was called into question, the Adler School’s Jay Colker, D.M., M.B.A., M.A., Core Faculty in the M.A. in Counseling and Organizational Psychology Program, was among experts interviewed on why professionals might embellish their resumes—and the risks involved.

Those who embellish often believe that what they bring to the table is not good enough, that they have to make themselves be better. "Even someone who is quite accomplished might feel it's not enough,” says Dr. Colker, a senior executive in corporate learning and talent management for more than 18 years who also holds 20 years of experience in clinical roles.
