Dr. Elena Quintana Blogs for Huffington Post about a Conversation on Snitching09.01.11
There are realities about “snitching” on people who commit crime and violence. “Deon” and a group of Englewood teen-age boys recently talked about them with Elena Quintana, Ph.D., Executive Director of the Adler School’s Institute on Public Safety and Social Justice, as part of the Adler School’s Englewood Gun Violence Prevention Program in partnership with Teamwork Englewood.
In her latest blog post for The Huffington Post,” Dr. Quintana describes the conversation and writes: “This group of boys is a smart bunch that overwhelmingly cares about their families and their community. If they want so badly for violence to stop, why wouldn't they want violent offenders to be taken to task for their crimes? It turns out that they have some very compelling reasons.”
