WGN-TV interviewed Rachel Johnston, Ph.D., about the shooting of two Virginia TV station employees by a disgruntled former coworker. Dr. Johnston discussed the motivations behind violent crimes and the lack of research to better understand what drives someone to kill.

“It is true that we don't fund research on gun violence, specifically, and I think that creates difficulty in developing good, sound policy,” said Johnston.

Dr. Johnston is an expert in law enforcement agencies and violence prevention and is program director for Adler's online Master's in Criminology program.
