Overview
The Adler School of Professional Psychology offers several post-master’s degree certificates that students may take as stand-alone programs or in conjunction with degree programs. Certificate options include Advanced Adlerian Psychotherapy, Substance Abuse Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, and Clinical Neuropsychology (doctoral level only).
Admission Requirements
- A baccalaureate degree or equivalent from an accredited institution and graduate standing in a master’s degree or doctorate program in an area of mental health, licensure as a clinical psychologist, or a related health care license (graduate standing is not applicable for applicants to the Substance Abuse Counseling Specialization)
- A grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for all undergraduate and graduate coursework
Integration of Science And Practice Requirement
Certificate candidates produce an article with an Adlerian focus suitable for publication. As a final requirement, students conceptualize a clinical case and develop an intervention strategy utilizing an Adlerian theoretical framework. Students present their work to their peers in the seminar as well as at a Common Hour event.
