Throughout my career, I’ve been interested in the areas of anxiety, mood, and psychopathology. Currently, I am researching cognitive vulnerability models suspected in the etiology and maintenance of anxiety disorders. I’m also studying methods of enhancing treatment engagements with adolescents. Teens are especially vulnerable to premature termination or dropout, and effective engagement may lead to more robust clinical outcomes.

Beyond my duties at Adler, I serve on the editorial board of the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology and work as a manuscript reviewer for other publications. This privilege allows me to remain at the forefront of developments, which is obviously helpful for me as a teacher. Whatever I can learn and bring to the School and into the classroom is important and exciting. I thoroughly enjoy guiding student research, and encourage students to present findings at national meetings and make submissions for publication. It’s wonderful for them to bring results to the world outside the School.

My goal is to support and enhance our mission of educating socially responsible practitioners. I am proud of our brilliant students and graduates as they continue to impact the international community with a special vision begun by Alfred Adler.
