The Adler School of Professional Psychology requires that all students participate in the APPIC Match system to obtain a pre-doctoral internship in psychology. Over the years many students enrolled at Adler have requested and been granted permission to seek an internship position outside of the formal APPIC Match process due to geographic restrictions (e.g., international students who would like to practice in their home country or students who must stay in Illinois due to personal commitments) and training interests (e.g., developing an internship working with underserved and underprivileged populations where the agency does not have the resources to pay for the cost of the accreditation process). Non-APA/CPA and non-APPIC/CAPIC internship programs affiliated with Adler have submitted materials to the Department of Training at Adler for review and approval prior to working with Adler students during their internship training. Sites must meet APPIC membership criteria and other requirements outlined by the Adler School of Professional Psychology. The Director of Training maintains contact with internship training directors throughout each training cycle to monitor and assess the quality of the training experience for all interns. Students enrolled at the Adler School of Professional Psychology benefit from our APA-Accredited Pre-Doctoral Internship Program, Adler Community Health Services. The site has a class of five interns each year, with five positions (including one half-time position) available to Adler School students only through the APPIC Match process.

Graduate Licensure Information
In the fall of 2009, the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program, through the Department of Academic Affairs, completed a licensure verification project searching the names of program graduates in licensure databases across the United States. This project resulted in a database of licensed graduates including state of license and initial date of licensure. During the time period of 1999 to 2007, 228 students graduated from the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology program at the Adler School of Professional Psychology. We have verified that 135 of these graduates are licensed psychologists in the United States (59%). It is also important to note, because we prepare so many people for international work, that 25 of the 228 graduates are licensed or registered within other countries (11%). Overall, 70% of graduates within this time frame are licensed or registered.
