The Adler School of Professional Psychology (Chicago Campus) offers several scholarships for incoming students for Fall 2010.
All applicants who complete their admissions interview by March 23, 2010 are automatically considered for the following scholarships. All winners will be notified by April 1, 2010.
Social Justice Scholarship (New Psy.D. Students)
The recipients of these scholarships are selected based on financial need, academic history, and their commitment to social justice as demonstrated through either a history of providing community service or an articulated plan to design and implement effective and innovative solutions to a significant social problem.
Award Amount: $10,000
Adler School Diversity Scholarship (New Psy.D. Students)
The recipients of these scholarships are selected based on their academic history and their commitment to diversity as it relates to their interest in psychology. Priority will be given to applicants who belong to ethnic, racial, religious, cultural, and sexual identity groups that have traditionally been underrepresented populations in the field of psychology.
Award Amount: $10,000
Returning Scholars Scholarship (All New M.A. and Psy.D. Students)
This scholarship is reserved for individuals over the age of 35 who have been out of college for at least five years. Recipients are selected based on their academic history, life experiences, and motivation for pursuing a degree in their chosen field.
Award Amount: $10,000
Seymour Schneider Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Seymour Schneider, who taught at the Adler School until his death in 1996. Recipients of this scholarship are selected based on their academic history and their commitment to pursuing Adlerian studies.
Award Amount: $5,000
All applicants who complete their admissions interview by July 2, 2010 are automatically considered for the following scholarships. All winners will be notified by July 15, 2010.
Community Leaders Scholarship (New M.A. Students)
The recipients of these scholarships are selected based on their financial need, academic history, and their commitment to social justice as demonstrated through either a history of providing community service and leadership or an articulated plan to design and implement effective and innovative solutions to a significant social problem. Applicants need to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Award amount: $5,000
Sadie "Tee" Dreikurs Art Therapy Scholarship (All new Art Therapy Students)
This scholarship was established in memory of Ms. Dreikurs, who established art therapy training at the Adler School and taught until her death in 1996. Recipients of this scholarship are selected based on their academic history and their motivation to pursue training in the file of art therapy.
Award amount: $5,000
Additional Scholarship Criteria
- New student scholarships are reserved for full-time, degree-seeking students who have applied for admission to the fall 2010 term.
- Applicants who defer admission from the original term of acceptance are ineligible to receive scholarships.
- Scholarships are disbursed toward tuition and fees over two terms. For example, a $10,000 scholarship would disburse $5,000 in the fall term and $5,000 in the spring term.
- Students must maintain satisfactory academic progress in order to main eligibility for subsequent allocations of their awards.
- Scholarship recipients may be required to attend a scholarship reception or ceremony.
