Scholarships
RETURNING SCHOLARS SCHOLARSHIPNew incoming U.S. students for all programs are eligible to apply. Returning scholars are classified as any new students over the age of 35 who have been out of college for at least five years. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on several criteria and are required to submit a 250-500 word written statement which discusses the applicant's knowledge gained through life experiences related to interests, career paths, family commitments and/or other responsibilities which have influenced their current educational goals and objectives. Scholarship applications are also evaluated based on financial need and merit. Required materials: scholarship application, written statement, resume or curriculum vitae, and submission of FAFSA.
SOCIAL JUSTICE SCHOLARSHIPNew incoming U.S. students for all programs are eligible to apply. Scholarship recipients are selected based on a 250-500 word written statement demonstrating either a history of providing community service or an articulated plan to design and implement effective and innovative solutions to a significant social problem. Scholarship applications are also evaluated based on financial need and merit. Required materials: scholarship application, written statement, resume or curriculum vitae, and submission of FAFSA.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPNew incoming and current Adler School international students for all programs are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to candidates from countries that expand the international representation within the Adler School student community and demonstrate a commitment to the Adlerian values of social interest and compassion. Applicants must provide a 250-500 word essay with an articulated plan to improve their local or international communities. Required materials: scholarship application, written statement, and resume or curriculum vitae.
ADLER SCHOOL DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPNew incoming U.S. students for all programs are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on a 250-500 word written statement that discusses the applicant's experiences with and commitment to diversity and how it relates to their interest in psychology. Scholarship applications are also evaluated based on financial need and merit. Required materials: scholarship application, written statement, resume or curriculum vitae, and FAFSA.
ALFRED ADLER SCHOLARSHIPCurrent U.S. Adler School students in all programs who have completed at least one semester are eligible to apply for this scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on a written statement exhibiting commitment to the Adlerian value of 'social interest' through either a history of or an articulated plan to provide service to their local and greater community. Priority is given to applicants who are committed to working with underserved or marginalized populations. Scholarship applications are also evaluated based on financial need. In addition to the scholarship application, students must submit a letter of recommendation from an external agency or community member describing their service commitment and the impact their work has had or may have upon others. Required materials: scholarship application, written statement, recommendation letter, and submission of FAFSA.
SEYMOUR SCHNEIDER SCHOLARSHIPNew incoming students in all programs are eligible to apply for this scholarship. This scholarship was established in memory of Dr. Seymour Schneider, who taught at the Adler School until his death in 1996. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on a 250-500 word written statement that discusses why Adlerian training is important to them and their interest in actively applying Adlerian principles to real social issues and problems. Scholarship applications are also evaluated based on financial need and merit. Required materials: scholarship application, written statement, and submission of FAFSA.
SADIE "TEE" DREIKURS ART THERAPY SCHOLARSHIPCurrent Adler School students pursuing a M.A. or certificate in Art Therapy are eligible to apply. This scholarship is in memory of Ms. Dreikurs, who established art therapy training at Adler School and taught until her death in 1996. Scholarship recipients will be selected based on a 250-500 word written statement that discusses why they chose the field of art therapy and how the training received relates to their future goals. Scholarship applications are also evaluated based on financial need and merit. Required materials: scholarship application, written statement, resume or curriculum vitae, and submission of FAFSA.
