Adler School of Professional Psychology is approved by the Department of Education to award federal student aid to eligible students. In addition to participating in the Title IV Federal Assistance program, we offer a variety of options to help students offset expenses while attending school. Eligible students can choose from:
- Federal Stafford Loans;
- Federal Work Study;
- Scholarships;
- Graduate Plus Loans; and
- Alternative Loans (available to U.S. and international students).
To be awarded financial assistance, a student must complete a financial aid file and meet all eligibility requirements. Students can begin the process of completing a financial aid file by submitting a Free Application of Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the Department of Education at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Adler School FAFSA code is G20681.
Eligibility
To apply for federal loan and work-study funds, a student must meet the following criteria:

- Demonstrate financial need as defined by the U.S. Department of Education for Title IV funding;
- Enrolled at least half-time in a program leading to a degree or certificate;

The Types of Aid Available are:
The Federal Stafford Loan
The Federal Stafford Loan provides the most attractive choice among loan options for most student borrowers. There are two types of Federal Stafford Loans
- Subsidized - The subsidized loan is based on need, and the government pays the interest while the student is enrolled. Students must be enrolled on at least a half-time basis to be eligible.
- Unsubsidized- The unsubsidized loan is a non-need-based loan for educational expenses. The student is responsible for the interest upon disbursement.
Federal Work-Study (Part-time Work)
The Federal Work-Study program allows students to attend school while earning money from a part-time job. Under this program, the federal government pays a portion of your wages and Adler School contributes the remainder.
Under the Federal Work-Study program, students may work up to 20 hours per weeks during the fall, spring or summer semesters. During school breaks, students may work up to 40 hours per week. All hiring is done on a term-by-term basis.
Scholarships
Adler School of Professional Psychology offers scholarships based on academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. Scholarships are available to both new and returning U.S. and International students.
Graduate PLUS Loans
Graduate PLUS loans, part of the Federal Family Education Loan Program (FFELP), are now available for graduate and professional students. With a low fixed interest rate, a Graduate PLUS loan allows you to fund up to 100% of the cost of your graduate or professional education, less any financial aid already awarded.
Alternative Loans
Alternative loans are available to U.S. and International students. Approval is based upon the student's credit rating, and interest rates vary.
