Dr. Barrie Joins Discussions with Ron Clark Academy and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

Rabiatu Barrie, Ph.D., Assistant Professor for the Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) program in Chicago, conducts programs and research focused on the empowerment and healing of Black boys and young men. She recently participated in two discussions related to this work.

Dr. Barrie joined the Ron Clark Academy on Instagram Live on September 4 to discuss her work with Black boys and young men on deconstructing stereotypes of Black men, affirming identity, examining gender roles, and coping with racism. Watch Dr. Barrie’s interview with Kirk Andre for the Ron Clark Academy’s Instagram Live series, “Amplify Black Voices.”

A few days later, Dr. Barrie moderated a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation panel on disrupting the dehumanization of boys and young men of color. Watch the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation discussion, “#WayForward – Return Me to Myself: Disrupting the Dehumanization of Our Cultures and Spirit.
