Dr. Paszkiewicz Joins Chicago Graduates' Podcast to Discuss Counseling Programs

In the Media | 03.13.21

Wendy Paszkiewicz, Psy.D.Vice President of Academic Affairs, was recently interviewed by Chicago Campus graduates Jessica Strang, Psy.D. ‘07, and Jennifer Trivelli, Psy.D. ‘07, on their podcast, “Everything You Want to Know About Therapy *but were too afraid to ask. Dr. Paszkiewicz discussed the importance of counseling and the different career paths available to help people and communities in the mental health field.

In a mental health program of any kind, you should expect to be challenged to really take a look at yourself because you are the tool in therapy,” Dr. Paszkiewicz said. “You are the instrument and so if you don’t know yourself, how can you help somebody else?”

Dr. Strang, Licensed Clinical Psychologist at her own private practice, spoke about her experience as a doctoral student. At the core of my Adler University education was to remain humble and open to new experiences,” Dr. Strang said. “The learning never stops and remaining curious has always helped me wherever I go. Starting this podcast with Jennifer is an extension of our quest for knowledge.”

“Everything You Want to Know About Therapy *but were too afraid to ask” strives to help listeners who are interested in therapy understand where to start, what to ask, and what to look for in a therapist by interviewing experts in the mental health field.

Dr. Trivelli, Business Development Navigator for Eating Disorder Services at Linden Oaks Behavioral Heath, shared the importance of the podcast. “There has been a significant increase in need for mental health services, but so many people don’t know where to start,” Dr. Trivelli said. “We talked about creating a podcast where we could host expert guests in a variety of fields in behavioral health in hopes of providing people with a starting off point, to have information before they seek treatment.
