As the Fall 2024 term gets underway, Adler University is buzzing with new energy. This year, 412 new students have joined the Adler community — an 8.2% increase over last year’s incoming class — bringing Adler’s total enrollment to 1,632. From classrooms to virtual spaces, these students are embarking on their academic journeys, ready to contribute their diverse perspectives and experiences to the University.
For those interested in exploring the details, the Fall 2024 Day Ten Report is available in Power BI for review, offering comprehensive insights into our student demographics, enrollment trends, student-faculty ratios, and class sizes. Compiled by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, led by Katy Selinko, Ph.D., the report provides key data shaping Adler University and is produced immediately following the tenth calendar day of each academic term, marking the end of the add/drop period for student registration.
To help faculty and staff navigate the report, Dr. Selinko will be available for group walk-throughs of the data on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 11 a.m. CDT/9 a.m. PDT and Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 2 p.m. CDT/noon PDT. These sessions will offer an opportunity to explore the metrics in detail and address any questions.
A Closer Look at Our Students
Whether on campus in Chicago, Vancouver, or connecting through our online programs, students are forming meaningful bonds with peers and faculty. With a 9.4% increase in enrollment compared to this past summer, the Adler community continues to grow and evolve.
This fall, our student-to-faculty ratio is 12.7:1, providing opportunities for personal connection and one-on-one mentorship. In Chicago, the average class size is just over 13 students, creating intimate learning environments where students and professors collaborate closely.
One of the most inspiring aspects of this year’s cohort is its diversity. More than 51% of students identify as part of an ethnic minority, marking a 5.1 percentage point rise from last year. It’s a reflection of Adler’s growing role as a university that embraces and celebrates different cultures, experiences, and backgrounds. The student body spans nine of Canada’s 13 provinces and territories, as well as 44 of the 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C. Additionally, the age range of students varies significantly, from 20 to over 60, further enriching the learning community.
Persistence and Dedication
At Adler, students are more than just enrolled — they’re committed. The University’s persistence rate has climbed to 93.8%, meaning the vast majority of students are continuing their studies with us year after year. Among ethnic minority students, persistence remains strong at 92.2%.
As we move through the Fall 2024 term, it’s clear that the new and continuing students at Adler University are shaping a vibrant, supportive, and diverse community that is eager to make an impact in the world.
