Psychology or Counseling: Which Degree is Right for Me?

One comment we often hear from prospective students: “I want to make a difference, but should I pursue a degree in psychology or a degree in counseling?”

It’s important to recognize the massive impact mental health professionals have on our communities, with counselors and psychologists playing crucial roles. Both paths have the power to improve lives, but there are some key differences between them.

Find out if licensure is the path for you and what it will take to become a Licensed Professional Clinician (LPC) via our CMHC track, or if a variety of other socially responsible careers are a better fit via our M.A. in Psychology track.
