Tsewang Norbu is a 25-year-old Tibetan singer and rapper welcomed by the young Chinese population. However, on 4 March 2022, it was reported that Norbu set himself on fire as a protest to the Chinese control in Tibet. Why did this young Tibetan, given he is at the top of his entertainment career, end his life like this? Why did many others before him set themselves on fire? What is the message behind it?
The webinar will surround the struggle for freedom and independence of the Tibetan people. Join Tenzin, a dedicated student leader serving in the Students for a Free Tibet, to understand more about the long history of Tibetan’s fight against the Chinese autocratic rule and their independence.
