Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion

Dr. Tamara A. Johnson is the inaugural Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at Adler University and provides vision and leadership for equity, diversity and inclusion efforts across all three Adler campuses.

Prior to joining Adler, Dr. Johnson served as Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion and Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, Director of Faculty Diversity Initiatives at the University of Chicago and Executive Director of Multicultural Affairs at Northwestern University. Dr. Johnson has also held positions in a range of higher education offices, including career services, counseling centers and residential life. She has spent time working as a consultant with the Department of Veterans Affairs and has taught at Argosy University, the Chicago School of Professional Psychology and Northwestern University.

Dr. Johnson has served on the Advisory Board for the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity and is currently a member of the National Planning Committee for the Faculty Women of Color in the Academy Conference. She is a member of a number of professional associations, has presented at over 40 professional conferences and serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Diversity in Higher Education.
