This Fall Series Adlerian education event features practical applications of Adlerian psychology in working with clinical populations (individuals with eating disorders and co-occurring disorders), families (parents of children with severe disabilities), and in applying one of the hallmark Adlerian approaches to assessment and treatment across populations and diagnostic conditions (therapeutic metaphors). Two tracks are offered: counseling and psychology, but participants are free to attend any workshop of their choice.

Workshop titles:

  • 9:15-10:30 workshops, breakout one: Susan Belangee - Using Adlerian Psychology with Clients with Eating Disorder; Marina Bluvshtein - Therapeutic Metaphors
  • 10:45-12:00 workshops, breakout two: Tim Hartshorne - Counseling parents of children with severe disabilities Paul Fitzgerald - Thinking Outside the Box with co-Occurring Disorders: An Adlerian model for Assessment and Treatment Planning
  • Adler University students attend for free. COR/BOD members of NASAP attend at a discounted rate ($30.00). Adler University faculty and staff attend for $30.00 as well. Others pay full rate ($50.00).

Application for 2.5 CE credits has been approved.

Adler University Alumni - Please join President Crossman and members of our faculty for a lunch directly following the training. Lunch will be held on campus from 12:00 – 1:30PM. We will discuss how Adlerian principles continue to impact society and inform our academic and community engagement programs.

For psychologists: Adler University is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Adler University maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

For counselors: Adler University is registered with the State of Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Division of Professional Regulation as a Registered Social Worker Continuing Education Sponsor (license no. 159-001210).
