Adler Debuts Annual Magazine in New, Interactive Online Format

On the heels of welcoming new master’s and doctoral students at our Chicago, Vancouver, and Online Campuses, Adler University is debuting its annual magazine for alumni and friends — with a notable twist.

Social Change magazine launched for the first time in a dynamic online format. The publication is now more accessible than ever, further elevating the social justice work of the University’s students, staff, and faculty members, and graduates. The 2017 theme is courage — one of the five values that guides expectations and behavior at Adler University.

Among the magazine’s stories are the following features:

For many people at Adler, the 2016 election cut to the heart of what they do — and intensified their mission. Together, they’re braving a new era of activism.

Now situated in the city’s vibrant education hub, the new Vancouver Campus is a home that beats like the heart of Adler itself: progressive, visionary, inspirational.

This summer, Adler University received the largest gift in the institution’s history, a donation of $1 million — the result of a journey that began one life-changing afternoon nearly 50 years ago.

Social Change captures Adler University in a snapshot of now — when not only thinking Adlerian, but embodying Adlerian values by engaging our communities is so vital and necessary. Social Change highlights the work of Adler University at a time when social justice advocacy is more important than ever. The new online platform promotes interaction, conversation and evolution. Readers can share the magazine’s content across diverse social media platforms, discuss and debate in the comments section, and enjoy video and audio storytelling.

An online format also lends itself to more regular updates. The University will be adding fresh content and features to the site on a tri-annual basis.

“We are excited to move Social Change to this new online format, and we hope you will not only read the magazine, but use it to connect with one another, reflect on important social issues, and enhance the visibility and reputation of Adler University,” said Mark Branson, the university’s associate vice president of marketing and communications.

Social Change also includes highlights from the University’s s award-winning alumni; news from the Institutes and Centers; and spotlights on grants and major gifts.

Read the magazine today in its new online format, and learn more about its creation via our Adler University blog, The Socially Responsible Practitioner.
