University Update

We continue to monitor the latest public health guidance regarding COVID-19 in Vancouver and Chicago. In British Columbia, the Provincial State of Emergency was extended to April 14 by Premier John Horgan. In Illinois, Governor J.B. Pritzker extended a "stay at home” order through April 30. The orders come as COVID-19 cases in Canada and the U.S. continue to rise and public health officials have reinforced the importance of social distancing.

As a result, all class instruction in Vancouver and Chicago will continue to be virtual through the end of the summer term (August 23).

Our goal in making this decision is both to ensure the health and safety of our community and to provide as much stability and continuity for our students as possible. Making this decision now gives faculty the time they need to build out excellent instruction for the summer term.

The Vancouver and Chicago campus facilities will remain closed until public health officials advise us otherwise in British Columbia and at least as long as a “stay at home” order is in place in Illinois. We anticipate this will be at least until the end of May. We will continue to monitor the situation and will re-open campuses to staff and faculty when it is safe to do so.
