Charley Jauss, M.A. '18, a graduate of the Master of Arts in Counseling: Specialization in Sport and Health Psychology program in Chicago, joined Major League Baseball (MLB) as the Arizona Diamondbacks’ Mental Skills Coach. He is part of a brand new department created to positively impact the entire organization, including the players, coaches, and staff.

Mental skills coaches train athletes to achieve optimal performance and have the opportunity to shed light on mental health in professional sports, where it is often under-addressed and socially impactful.

“We are excited to create this department for the D-back, and provide our players with as many developmental resources as we can,” said Diamondbacks Executive Vice President and General Manager Mike Hazen.
