Rachelle Barmann, M.A. ’19, shared her insight on art therapy in the Naperville Sun. Barmann, a graduate of Adler University Master of Arts in Counseling: Art Therapy program in Chicago, reflected on her transition from a graphic design and marketing career to art therapy, as well as what differentiates the vocation from talk therapy.

“Sometimes, it’s easier for people to express visually more than speaking,” Barmann said in the interview. “Art alone can provide healing even if you don’t have the words. We learn from dialoguing about the art. Everything we create is about self-healing. Art allows our souls to speak.”
