Michelle Anderson, Ph.D., Clinical Supervisor for Adler Community Health Services (ACHS), spoke as an expert on the We Raise Foundation’s panel presentation, Community Conversation: Holistic Re-Entry Support After Prison.

Dr. Anderson serves as a supervisor for students working with St. Leonard’s Ministries, an agency that supports formerly incarcerated persons successfully returning to their communities through a holistic blend of mental health, primary care, and workforce development.

Along with Joni Stahlman, Chief Program Director at St. Leonard’s, and Dr. Angela Moss, Assistant Dean of Faculty Practice and Assistant Professor at Rush University College of Nursing, Dr. Anderson discussed how transformative these services are when they work in tandem.

Bringing the services to the community, ensuring quality, and making them comprehensive and easy-to-access can hopefully "keep people from reaching the crisis point of needing to utilize emergency room services or being hospitalized for psychiatric reasons," she said.
