FOX 32 Interviews Dr. Sandhya on iPhone Separation Anxiety

FOX 32 Chicago reported on a new study in the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication that identified a condition they call “iPhone separation anxiety” and found that it has significant psychological and physiological effects.

In her interview, Shaifali Sandhya, Ph.D., said that it is important for people to moderate how much time they spend on their phones and other mobile devices. “To cultivate important human strengths like empathy, intimacy, compassion…one needs to be away from these gadgets and really attend to being mindful.”

Dr. Shaifali Sandhya is a professor and clinical psychologist with expertise in health and wellness.
