Psy.D. Student Featured in Medill Reports Chicago for Work with Youth Program

Diana Chaidez, a student in the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology program was featured in a Medill Reports Chicago story about the Cities Mentor Project. The youth intervention program pairs Chicago youth living in poverty with mentors and supervisors.

Chaidez serves as a Cities Mentor Project graduate supervisor for Wentworth Elementary. Along with her team, she teaches children stress management skills, and offers support and a place to process emotions. The Project is founded on more than a decade of research that indicates how stress caused by poverty, racism, and violence affects adolescents.
