We interact with our surroundings to adapt and adopt new behaviors. This transformation shapes us individually and collectively, as well as the systems.
Dr. Chow is a distinguished Counsellor educator with over 20 years of experience leading Counsellor education programs at various universities. Her tenure as chair of the Counselling Department at Adler University spanned 12 years, concluding in the fall of 2024. Under her leadership, she developed and secured CACREP accreditation for both the Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counselling and the Doctorate of Philosophy in Counsellor Education and Supervision Programs for two eight-year cycles. She also designed courses for the programs in multiple formats — online, hybrid, and virtual — to accommodate the diverse needs of students.
Her areas of expertise include advanced social justice Counselling, leadership and advocacy, pedagogy in higher education, group Counselling, and research methods. Dr. Chow’s expertise also includes training leaders and facilitators of diversity and social justice-related workshops, cross-cultural conflict resolution, academic Programme development and evaluation, and cross-cultural supervision.

My current research interests lie in the areas of cross-cultural conflict and interpersonal interactions, as well as the transcultural application of Counselling approaches. I welcome students to join me in conducting the research.
