OVERVIEW
Dr. Sarasqueta-Allen is a counselor educator whose work bridges clinical practice, teaching, and public policy. Her clinical experience includes supporting queer adolescents, university students, couples, and families in both rural and urban settings. She holds licensure as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and earned her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Counseling.
At Adler University in Vancouver, Dr. Sarasqueta-Allen teaches across the counselling psychology curriculum, including assessment, theories, professional development, couples and family therapy, and counselling skills. She also supports student scholarship as a thesis supervisor and serves as the core faculty member of the Research Ethics Board.
Her research and advocacy focus on abortion rights, community organizing, psychometrics, and engagement with public policy. She has held leadership roles in legislative and policy work at regional, state, and national levels within the counselling profession and was recognized with the 2020 Government Relations Award by the Association for Adult Development and Aging, a division of the American Counseling Association.
