OVERVIEW
Karlyn  is an organizational and community leader whose work centers on restorative justice, resilience, and systems change. As the Community Restorative Justice Hubs manager at the Institute of Public Safety and Social Justice, Karlyn  advances a restorative philosophy to create safe, healing-centered spaces for disconnected and court-involved youth and adults.
She has extensive experience partnering with organizations across Chicago’s West and South Sides to strengthen strategic goals, guide change management initiatives, and facilitate group processes through a restorative and executive functioning lens. Her professional practice informs and is informed by her research on organizational resilience — particularly the strategies and internal capacities that enable nonprofits to recover from crises and sustain long-term impact.
Karlyn is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy  in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Adler University. In addition to her work with community organizations, she teaches social work in adult studies programs and is dedicated to integrating scholarship, practice, and community leadership.
