CreativeMornings at Adler University to welcome Liberated Arts Movement founder Tara Levy

Adler University students, staff, faculty, and the general public are invited to be inspired by Tara Levy, founding executive director of the Liberated Arts Movement, on Friday, Sept. 19, from 8:30-10 a.m. CDT, at its Chicago campus.

The event is the first of three talks Adler will host this fall in partnership with CreativeMornings, a global breakfast lecture series that celebrates imagination, connection, and purpose.

This month’s theme is Blossom — when ideas awaken, take shape, and grow into the art they’re meant to be.

To attend, register through CreativeMornings.

Levy is an artist, author, and educator from the western suburbs of Chicago. She founded the Liberated Arts Movement, an initiative that uses creativity as a catalyst for healing, connection, and cultural change. Rooted in the belief that art can shape a more compassionate and emotionally intelligent world, the organization champions expression for all.

For nearly a decade, Levy has worked in education serving as a high school English teacher, academic adviser, and community engagement coordinator. Her passion for education and youth development has heavily influenced her art practices and community work.

First created in 2008 by Brooklyn-based designer Tina Roth Eisenberg, CreativeMornings came out of a desire for an ongoing, accessible event for New York’s creative community. The concept was simple: a free talk and breakfast one Friday morning a month.

Today, CreativeMornings has expanded to cities around the world, with volunteer hosts and their teams organizing local chapters that not only celebrate a city’s creative talent but also create an open space to connect with other creative individuals. It’s now the world’s largest face-to-face creative community, hosting local events every Friday, virtual FieldTrips every week, and jobs postings via the CreativeGuild.

Following Levy’s talk, Adler University will host two additional CreativeMornings events this fall on Oct. 31 and Nov. 14, continuing the University’s partnership in celebrating creativity across Chicago.
