OVERVIEW
Karen Caffee, Ph.D., LMFT, is a licensed marriage and family therapist, certified sex therapist, educator, and scholar whose work focuses on the intersection of couple and family therapy and sex therapy.
Dr. Caffee maintains a private practice, EHP Sexological and Therapeutic Services, in Illinois, where she provides therapy and clinical supervision. Her clinical and scholarly interests focus on integrating couple and family therapy with sexological topics. Her work includes academic publications and presentations at state, national, and international conferences, as well as a published adaptation of a couple and family therapy model for sex therapy. She continues to contribute to ongoing research and publication projects in these areas.
Dr. Caffee also serves as executive director of the Illinois Affiliation of Marriage and Family Therapists (IAMFT). In this role, she works with the Board of Directors and the organization’s membership to advance the profession of marriage and family therapy and support the communities its members serve.
At Adler University, Dr. Caffee has taught in the Couple and Family Therapy Department since 2018 and has contributed to the Certificate in Sex Therapy for several years. She currently serves as certificate coordinator, overseeing the certificate’s ongoing development and administration.
Across her clinical practice, scholarship, teaching, and professional leadership, Dr. Caffee works to strengthen connections between marriage and family therapy, sex therapy, and the broader community.
