OVERVIEW
Dr. Honar is a clinical faculty member with Adler Community Health Services at Adler University. She is an alumna of the university and was the sole scholarship recipient during her studies in recognition of her ongoing commitment to social justice, community-based mental health care, and academic achievement. Her dissertation focused on treatment outcomes in Iranian adults with depression. She supervises master’s-level practicum students as they provide therapy and clinical services to the community.
Dr. Honar’s clinical experience spans both the public and private sectors, where she has provided therapy, assessments, crisis counseling, and consultation to individuals, couples, youth, groups, and families. She has previous experience supervising master’s-level students at a therapy training site. Her primary therapeutic modalities include acceptance and commitment therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and emotionally focused therapy. Her assessment interests primarily involve autism spectrum disorder and psychoeducational diagnostic reports.
