OVERVIEW
Dr. Honar is a clinical faculty member with Adler Community Health Services at Adler University. An alumna of the university, she was the sole scholarship recipient during her training in recognition of her sustained commitment to social justice, community‑based mental health care, and academic excellence. Her dissertation examined treatment outcomes among Iranian adults with depression.
In her current role, Dr. Honar supervises master’s‑level practicum students as they provide therapy and clinical services to the community. Her broader clinical experience spans both public and private sectors, where she has provided therapy, assessments, crisis counseling, and consultation to individuals, couples, youth, families, and groups. She also brings prior experience supervising master’s‑level trainees at a therapy training site. Her primary therapeutic modalities include acceptance and commitment therapy, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, and emotionally focused therapy. Her assessment interests primarily involve autism spectrum disorder and psychoeducational diagnostic reports.
