OVERVIEW
Christian Maile, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology program at Adler University in Vancouver. He has been a core faculty member in the program since 2017.
Dr. Maile completed his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in Forensic Psychology, at John Jay College of Criminal Justice at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. He completed his APA- and CPA-accredited internship at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, with rotations in forensic psychology, psychosis, and anxiety.
Before joining Adler University, Dr. Maile worked with Correctional Service Canada for several years. His work included supporting the development of offender rehabilitation programming at National Headquarters in Ottawa, as well as serving as a clinician and psychologist at institutions in Ontario and British Columbia.
At Adler University in Vancouver, Dr. Maile teaches courses in diagnosis, personality and psychopathology assessment, and the cognitive and affective bases of behaviour. He has also supervised numerous doctoral dissertation projects.

CURRENT RESEARCH + OPPORTUNITIES
Maile’s research interests focus on experimental design, quantitative methodology, and the use of experimental psychology to inform clinical practice.
His previous research examined how techniques drawn from clinical, counselling, social, and marketing psychology can support the disclosure of sensitive information, including sexual fantasies and behaviour.
